 ----------------------------

In 2014 we built complete LAN centers at conventions and held both fun and competitive events for gamers of all skill levels.  In 2015 we kick things off at Indy PopCon featuring new games with new systems and we can't wait to meet all of the new players!

The highlight of this year's gaming zone features new Alienware X51 gaming computers.  These will be set-up for both hourly play and competitive events throughout the weekend.  If you want to join our local Minecraft server and jump into your favorite mods such as the Hunger Games Mod we have that for you.  If you're a League of Legends player and want to see how you stack up in LAN competition, join into our 5v5 random matches

Some highlights the 2015 Gaming Zone:

  •  Racing simulators featuring Dirt 2 that are used each year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the infield for spectators

  • Wii U casual and competitive events for Smash Brothers and MarioKart

  • PC game library available:  League of Legends, Hearthstone, Smite, Heroes of Newerth, Minecraft, Dota 2 and more....

  • Unique Indy PopCon Trophies and Medals for the top players

  • Special in-game awards, skin codes and other treats from publishers

You may pre-purchase passes to any of the special events and even buy hourly passes early.  These all guarantee you a position for the times and let you skip the lines waiting to enter during the convention.

Live Action Pathfinder Game (For Charity!)
Endless Dungeon is a charity event benefiting the Extra Life Foundation and Riley Children's Hospital.  Visit anytime during PopCon to hop into a game, or to observe and laugh, and - most importantly - support an awesome cause.

More Information

-----

The Endless Dungeon is the quintessential tabletop experience modified and set into motion by the power of Donation. All proceeds go directly to the Extra Life Charity! The stage is occupied by the dungeon master who will lead our heroes through the Endless Dungeon. There are no designated players! Anyone who is interested in playing simply donates the proper amount and is then invited on stage to play.

The goal is to last as long as possible while the audience does everything in their power to aid or conquer the participating adventurers. Through donation the players along with anyone from the audience can create armor, weapons, or contribute potions to the players and enemies alike. As long-time adventurers ourselves we know how to create true challenges.

Geek Standup Comedy
My name is Dylan Roahrig, and I am a local standup here in Indy. Myself and a small group of Indy and regional comics who specialize in geek\pop culture humor would like to perform for all of the PopCon attendees either in a single set highlighting each of us, or as interstitial entertainment between panels. As many of you recall, there was a troupe at PopCon last year from Iowa. We'd like to keep it local this year as this is an Indy Con, and we are Indy performers. Topics covered by comics will range from comic books to movies to games to cosplay and beyond. We would love to make our fellow PopConners laugh!

It’s a common dilemma: You want to cosplay, but you don’t have much cash. Or you don’t have access to a sewing machine, and wouldn’t know what to do with it if you did. Or the con is in two days, and you don’t have time to make something from scratch. Sound familiar? If so, this workshop is for you! We’ll show you costumes made for less than $10, plus discuss character selection, the process of deconstructing a costume, and how to build a complete costume out of things you have around the house. Participants will make a simple fantasy tunic to take home.

  • Stage Clause:A player/team may not pick any stage they previously won on during the set.

  • Stage Bans: During the stage ban phase, the player who won the previous game may ban 2 stages from either the Starter or Counterpick lists.

  • Self-Destruct Moves: If a match ends with the successful use of a character’s self-destruct move, the player that initiated the self destruct move wins the match regardless of what the results screen states. Self-destruct moves include only Ganondorf’s Side-B, King Dedede’s Neutral-B, Wario’s Neutral-B, and Kirby’s Neutral-B.

Once confirmed, players will reset the match to the same stocks and get as close to the percents as they had when the Glitch took place. (The Bowser Jr. Clown Car Glitch happens when the car respawns after using Up B right before the player loses their stock. The character starts to teleport around, also hit boxes and animations for Bowser Jr. change

  • Games or sets are not to be replayed due to a misinterpretation of the rules; it is the players’ responsibilities to ask the TO for any clarification of the rule set in the event of a disagreement, and the outcome of a game or set will not be changed after the fact unless under extreme circumstances.

  • Collusionof any kind with your competitors is forbidden. If the TO determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally under performing, the colluding players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the sole discretion of the TO. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.

  • Any situation that can arise that is NOT listed, but could be an issue to the staff or the players will be taken care of at the discretion of the TO(s). You have a right to appeal to the TO(s) about any minor offense that happens within your played event, however, the TO(s) is final. Any argument will result in further penalty or possible ejection from the venue depending on the severity of the act without a refund.

Game Settings

  • Stock and time are set to 2 stock and 6 minutes for Singles

  • Custom Fighters are set to off

  • Mii Fighters are legal. No other specials for Mii Fighters will be allowed. Players are not allowed to transfer existing Miis to a setup.

Stage List Starter Stages

  • Battlefield

  • Final Destination

  • Smashville

Counterpick Stages

  • Castle Siege

  • Delfino Plaza

  • Duck Hunt

  • Halberd

  • Lylat Cruise

  • Town & City

  • Omega Stages*

* Treated as Final Destination in banning phase. If Final Destination is banned, Omega Stages are banned and vice versa.

Additional Rules

  • Stage Striking: The player with port priority strikes one stage from the Starter Stage list. Then the other player strikes one stage and the remaining stage is used for the first match.

  • Stage Clause:A player/team may not pick any stage they previously won on during the set.

  • Stage Bans: During the stage ban phase, the player who won the previous game may ban 2 stages from either the Starter or Counterpick lists.

  • Self-Destruct Moves:If a match ends with the successful use of a character’s self-destruct move, the player that initiated the self destruct move wins the match regardless of what the results screen states. Self-destruct moves include only Ganondorf’s Side-B, King Dedede’s Neutral-B, Wario’s Neutral-B, and Kirby’s Neutral-B.

  • Team Colors:Players’ character colors must match their team’s color when possible, to avoid confusion (ex: Luigi on the green team must use the green costume)

  • Alternate Controllers: The Wii U Gamepad, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo 2DS are banned from use as controllers. All other controllers are acceptable for this event.

  • Bowser Jr’s Clown Car Glitch: If the Bowser Jr.’s Clown Car Glitch happens, players are to pause the match and call a TO or a referee over to confirm the glitch has happened.

  • Collusionof any kind with your competitors is forbidden.

Star Fox
The first Star Fox series of video games was released in 1993 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was the first three-dimensional Nintendo game, and it included the Super FX chip, a coprocessor used to accelerate graphics display, which became Nintendo’s first game to use 3D polygon graphics. The complex display of three-dimensional models with polygons was still new and uncommon in console video games, and the game was much-hyped as a result. Fan Filmmakers have re-imagined the Star Fox property and the characters into their own conceptional short.

Most of the panel I would leave open to questions to what the audience wants to know or learn. As of now I am the only one who would host this panel - but if you feel it would be better if I get some backup. I can! If there are any suggestions to what I can tweak or change about the panel if it sounds like a good idea, let me know!

Premiere Screening of New CW Show - Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Come join us for one of the first screenings of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, a new show coming to the CW lineup this fall. This is the first screening of the show in Indiana, and one of the first in the US!

“CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND”

Mondays at 8PM this fall on WISH-TV -

Rebecca Bunch is a successful, driven, and possibly crazy young woman who impulsively gives up everything – her partnership at a prestigious law firm and her upscale apartment in Manhattan – in a desperate attempt to find love and happiness in that exotic hotbed of romance and adventure: suburban West Covina, Calif. (it’s only two hours from the beach! Four in traffic).

CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND stars Rachel Bloom (“Robot Chicken”), who also serves as executive producer along with Aline Brosh McKenna (“The Devil Wears Prada”); and Marc Webb (“500 Days of Summer,” “The Amazing Spider-Man” films).

Star Wars: A Light in the Darkness
A Light in the Darkness’ main action takes place approx. 1 year BBY on a small planet in the Outer Rim. A young boy watches the Jedi who saved his people be killed by the very clones who once fought by his side. Years later, as a member of a small insurgency against the empire he and his team hatch a new plan to take back their planet by drawing the attention of the newly formed rebel alliance. Armed with the fallen Jedi’s light saber, he and his team battle to strike fear into the local imperial garrison, and overthrow their despotic governor. Their silent attacks give birth to a legend, and the people speak of a phantom Jedi whose spirit has returned. As the story spreads they manage to draw attention to their forgotten corner of the galaxy, but who will arrive first, the rebel alliance or the empire?
